Wicton Farm offers an in-depth dairy farm learning experience focusing on organic farming, milking cows, successful zero antibiotic use, dry cow management, practical calving procedures, fresh cow health, disease prevention and profitable calf management. If required, we can train you to safely operate a telehandler to gain your rough terrain forklift truck licence. Tractor driving and workshop skills such as learning to how to weld are also available by negotiation.

We aim to provide each apprentice with a challenging yet diverse experience to suit what it is that they wish to learn as an individual. You will be part of the team managing a herd of 80 Holstein Frisian cows, supported by excellent on farm facilities.

We encourage apprentices with any private issues (eg mental health, physical impairment, etc ) to honestly outline your situation in safe space conversation prior to applying and this will enable all parties to engineer a positive way forwards.

All accommodation and food provided. Minimum length of placement is 4 weeks. Remuneration by negotiation and performance.
